Ciao, I’m Tommaso Vielmo — an Italian industrial designer currently based in San Diego, CA. I’ve always been driven by a curiosity for how things are made and how they come together, which has shaped the way I approach design today. I enjoy moving fluidly between sketching, physical model-making, and hands-on prototyping, and I’m comfortable working with CNC machining and 3D printing to bring ideas into tangible form.

I work best as part of a collaborative, energetic team. Over the years, I’ve partnered closely with engineers and manufacturing teams, learning how to balance structure, usability, and aesthetics without compromising the original design vision. I naturally think about how materials behave, how components connect, and how a product will feel and function in someone’s everyday life. I also have strong experience developing soft goods, including sewing prototypes and building detailed tech packs, which has given me a practical understanding of upholstery and textile construction.

At the core, I care about creating products that feel intentional — pieces that are well-engineered, thoughtfully detailed, and built to last. I’m motivated by the process of refining ideas into something meaningful, functional, and beautiful.
